“The long list of people who would refuse to ride with Vince driving included me and Jim Ross, who told him ‘I love my children and want to see them again’. “

WWE Legend Jim Ross Reveals More About Why He Refused To Ride With Vince McMahon
Speaking on a live stream of the Grilling JR Podcast, Ross was asked about the line that he told McMahon.
JR responded that while he vaguely remembers that dialogue, he used to ride a lot with Vince McMahon, as the former CEO’s mannerisms had already kept a lot of his entourage from riding with him.
He adds that Mr.McMahon was all business all the time, which got boring for the current AEW announcer. Along with that, he shared that Vince drove recklessly despite being in situations that didn’t require them to be in a hurry.
Ross explained that the only reason McMahon drove that way was because he loved speed, which was something he was not comfortable with, all of which led to Ross refusing to ride with Vince. JR said:
“I vaguely remember that dialogue, yeah, you know I rode with him a lot because the other guys, [Pat] Patterson, Bruce [Prichard], and whoever else was in the entourage at the time, he [Vince] kept them out. I mean, he was challenging, because he never turned it off, he was always about business, about what’s next, and this that and the other, and it got boring for me. Plus, he drove recklessly, and he loved speed.
I was relieved when we got stopped by the Ohio State police because he was driving too fast, and at some point of time I got to thinking, you maybe I need to change ways of passage because these speeds are uncomfortable and we are not in a hurry, the show is over. We don’t have to do another show till tomorrow night or next week or whatever it may be. But golly, it was just a speed race, he loved speed, he loved to be the fastest guy on the highway.”
You can hear JR’s comments in the video below:
While it seems that McMahon has not given up his speeding habit, thankfully, there were no injuries to anyone who was involved in the accident.
The former WWE CEO has been issued a misdemeanor summons for reckless driving and is scheduled to appear in court sometime next month.
