A popular WWE legend has opened up on his retirement.
Almost six years ago, at WrestleMania 35, WWE legend and Hall of Famer Kurt Angle wrestled his final match. After a loss against Baron Corbin, the Olympic gold medalist, hung up his boots.
During a recent interview with WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh, Angle shared a detailed list of his injuries and how he should have retired 10 years before he did. Addressing his surgeries and the physical toll his body had suffered, Angle claimed that he was “paying the price now”:
Maybe I should have retired ten years earlier, but I’m very proud of my career.”

In his long career of amateur and pro-wrestling, Angle suffered several career-threatening injuries and went through many surgeries, but fought back and continued getting back inside the ring. Despite his illustrious career, Angle also experienced a dark phase during his time at TNA Wrestling, when he battled through his painkiller and alcohol addiction issues.

Following his exit from WWE in 2006, Angle signed with TNA Wrestling and stayed there till 2016, before returning to World Wrestling Entertainment for his Hall of Fame induction.
Despite a career filled with multiple highs and lows, Angle fought through them all and established his name as one of the best in the business.
WWE Hall Of Famer Kurt Angle Has No Issues Discussing His Past Demons
Earlier this year, during an interview with TribLive, Kurt Angle opened up on why he has no issues with discussing his past demons. The former World Champion claimed that he wanted to speak about them and spread awareness amongst the public:
It is important I use that platform to be able to talk about my life story and hopefully help people out by talking about mistakes I’ve made about my addiction, how I overcame that, and what I had to do to make that happen. I am a pretty open book about my life. I want to share that with people to hopefully give them motivation to go ahead and get their lives in order if it has turned into a mess. I tell them my story and how I have been clean and sober for more than 14 years. I get a lot of great responses. I am just happy to be able to motivate people to better their lives.”
