WWE Legend Faces Backlash For Saying Jim Ross Is ‘Seeking Attention’ Amid Cancer Battle

Jim Ross Addresses Jeff Jarrett's Controversial 1999 WWE Departure

After Jim Ross gave an update regarding his cancer, a WWE legend claims he was seeking attention.

Jim Ross shared on social media a few weeks ago that he was diagnosed with colon cancer and underwent surgery last week. Fortunately, the former WWE commentator shared on social media that it was a success and was now on the road to recovery. Many fans were happy about the news, but not Ric Flair.

In a now-deleted tweet, Ric Flair said that the legendary commentator announcing his cancer update was “seeking attention” and he should focus on his recovery instead.

“Jim Ross Will Always Be Jim Ross, Seeking Attention. Focus On Your Recovery @JRSBBQ”

Ric Flair is a two-time WWE Hall of Famer, as a solo star and member of the Four Horsemen, and officially retired this year. Meanwhile, Ross is currently a commentator for AEW.

Ric Flair Clarifies That His Message To Jim Ross Was A Joke

Due to the Hall of Famer’s comments to the AEW commentator, many fans were understandably upset. Following the backlash, The Nature Boy had to clarify his statements.

On Ric Flair’s X/Twitter, the 16-time World Champion said that people are living life too seriously if they can’t take a joke. He added that he was just trying to be harmless and lighthearted to make people laugh and smile.

“If You Can’t Take A Joke From A 76 Year Old Man, Then You Are Living Life Too Seriously. It Was All Harmless, Lighthearted Fun! Just Trying To Make People Laugh & Smile!”

We at ITR Wrestling wish Jim Ross a speedy recovery following his surgery.

In other news: Stone Cold Steve Austin called Jim Ross for almost an hour before his cancer surgery.
