WWE Legend Avoided Taking A Chop From Gunther

WWE star Gunther chops Sheamus

Since joining WWE in 2019, Gunther has established himself as arguably the most physical star in the company.

While WWE is home to taller and heavier Superstars, there are very few, if any, that hit harder than the Intercontinental Champion.

One man who recently got to see the star in action up close and personal was Booker T. The pair briefly crossed paths in the 2023 Royal Rumble as Gunther was embarking on his record-breaking run all the way to the end of the match.

Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T praised the star before revealing that he contemplated taking one of his famous chops. However, he quickly saw sense and decided against it.

“He’s a future World Champion in the company. He’s a guy that’s going to be that, that killer, monster heel in WWE. Timing is on his side as well. He’s young, he goes out, and if you don’t believe what GUNTHER does is real, go ahead and take one of those chops. That’s all you’ve got to do. Just take one and you would go, ‘Oh my God.’

When I was in the Rumble, I thought about taking one of those chops and then I said, ‘Man, to hell with that. I’m not taking that d*** chop.”

Gunther Set For Match With Huge WWE Star?

One of the highlights of the men’s Royal Rumble match was the staredown between Gunther and Brock Lesnar. This led to huge speculation that the pair could soon meet in a match, maybe even at WrestleMania 39. However, subsequent reports stated that WWE was holding off on booking the match.

Although, it appears that they won’t be holding off for too much longer. A new report has stated that the match could take place as early as the summer.
