WWE Hall Of Famer Almost Asked Chris Jericho To Join Fozzy

Former WWE Wrestler Chris Jericho Singing For Fozzy

Many wrestling fans know that when Chris Jericho isn’t using his finishing move the “Judas Effect” to defeat AEW wrestlers, he is also the lead singer of a well-known rock band called Fozzy.

Fozzy have been active since 1999, with eight albums under their belt and over 500,000 monthly listeners on Spotify.

However, is there an alternate reality where Chris Jericho isn’t the only wrestling legend to contribute to Fozzy’s musical output? A newly released podcast has brought this bizarre possibility to light.

WWE Hall Of Famer Almost Asked Chris Jericho To Join Fozzy

On a recent episode of The Kurt Angle Show, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle revealed that he enjoys playing the drums. While on the subject, he reminisced about a time when he almost approached Chris Jericho to sell himself as Fozzy’s newest member.

“I had this dream. I knew Chris Jericho was the lead singer for his band. We were in WWE and every day I wanted to go up to him and just say, ‘Hey, can I be part of your band? We can do an album, and WWE can record it, and we could be big rock stars.'”

“I thought, ‘You know what? I’m a drummer. I’m really good. So I think Chris would would take me in.'”

“But the problem is he already had a drummer, so I never asked him. I wish I would have. There could have been two drummers in his band. You never know.”

It wouldn’t be a terrible decision for Fozzy to hire Kurt Angle as their drummer, considering the Olympic Gold Medallist’s respectable musical back catalogue.

Who could forget Kurt Angle’s 2001 cover of “Jimmy Crack Corn?” What about his dramatic battle rap performance against John Cena in 2003? And of course, no Kurt Angle discography is complete without mentioning his original rock ballad “I Don’t Suck (Really)” from the “WWE Originals” album in 2004.

Wrestling fans can only hope that Fozzy pays homage to Angle’s iconic reimagining of Shawn Michael’s “Sexy Boy” theme song, retitled “Sexy Kurt,” in response to this revelation.
