WWE Issues Official Update On Cody Rhodes’ Condition After Gruesome Attack

Cody Rhodes Drew McIntyre WWE SmackDown 2025 WWE Championship

Cody Rhodes was reminded of an important lesson the hard way. Five days after SummerSlam, Drew McIntyre took the onus to let The American Nightmare know that there is no rest for the Undisputed WWE Champion.

Not that he didn’t know it already with his year-long reign between 2024 and 2025, but at The Biggest Party of the Summer this year, he ended John Cena’s record-setting 17th World Title reign. He was vanquished by Cena at WrestleMania 41, but then he regained the title in the summer.

Cena was Rhodes’ role model in more ways than one. It was a true passing of the torch, from one babyface to another. That’s got to amount to something, right? Wrong!

Five days later, on Friday Night SmackDown, Drew McIntyre hit The American Nightmare with a thunderous Claymore through the commentary table, splintering it. The champion has not been seen ever since.

WWE Is “Efforting” To Get A Medical Update Of Cody Rhodes

SmackDown’s commentator Joe Tessitore claimed that they were “efforting” to get an update, but there is no word at the time of this writing. Drew McIntyre appeared on-screen, blasting the commentator for his ridiculous claims. McIntyre further stated that the “official update” on Cody Rhodes is that he is “a little bi**h.”

The Scot continued, noting that everybody in the locker room wanted Cody’s spot. He reminded everyone of his pinfall victory over the champion, highlighting the fact that he was one of the few people in the company who had managed to do so since The American Nightmare’s triumphant 2022 WWE return.

Drew McIntyre also said that the next time he pins Cody Rhodes, he will be taking home the Undisputed WWE Championship, establishing himself as the new number one contender.
