Tyson Fury has revealed he will likely never wrestle in WWE again, admitting that boxing is “much easier” for him!
Almost four years ago, the heavyweight boxer made his professional wrestling debut at WWE Crown Jewel. Fury defeated Braun Strowman after hitting him with a knockout punch to the outside of the ring, obtaining a count-out victory as a result.
Despite appearing at WWE Clash At The Castle in Cardiff, Wales last year, Fury has not competed inside the squared circle since his debut bout. Now, he has revealed that his match with Strowman will likely be his first and last foray into professional wrestling.
Speaking to Mike Coppinger of ESPN, Fury admitted that he is unlikely to ever wrestle again due to the physical toll of professional wrestling versus boxing where he can dodge the majority of the offense.
“WWE’s too hard for me. Boxing is much easier than WWE. It’s very physical and taxing on the body. WWE, getting slammed on the floor and all that sort of stuff. I’d rather move around the ring and dodge punches.”
Fury has a busy few months ahead of him in the world of boxing. On October 28th, he will face former UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou and is also tentatively scheduled for an Undisputed Heavyweight Championship fight with Oleksandr Usyk on December 23rd.
Tyson Fury Isn’t Done With WWE Altogether, It Seems
Despite Fury claiming his in-ring professional wrestling career is likely over, that doesn’t mean that his time with WWE is done altogether.
In an interview with Sports Illustrated earlier this week, Tyson Fury admitted there is still “a lot of opportunity” for him in the now-Endeavor-owned organisation. He praised the “amazing experience” of WWE but admitted that boxing is currently his top priority.
