A 5-time WWE World Champion shared that he was invited by the company to attend SummerSlam, and was told there were no seats left on his arrival.
The Biggest Party of the Summer is one of WWE’s most historic PLEs, and a regular feature of the show is an appearance by WWE legends in the crowd. This year saw the likes of the Dudley Boyz and the Hardy Boyz being present in the crowd, where the company acknowledged them and their contributions, making for a feel-good moment.
However, this was not the case for former champion and WWE legend Bret Hart, who felt snubbed after being invited to the PLE only to be told they had no seats left for him.
Bret Hart Talks Shares Humiliating Experience At WWE SummerSlam
The Hitman spoke on a recent appearance on the PTM Podcast, where he described the incident in detail. The Hall of Famer said that the WWE had invited him to the event and requested him to be in the crowd, as they do with a lot of legends.
He implied that he agreed to do it, but was informed by the promotion’s representatives on his arrival that they had no seats left for him at the venue. The Excellence of Execution continued, saying that while he was given this information, he observed that Kevin Nash was able to get a seat.
The Hitman added that this humiliating and disrespectful snub made him realise that probably the WWE doesn’t appreciate him. He said:
“I went to SummerSlam, they invited me down, and this year WWE told me they wanted me to be in the crowd, and they told me once I got there that they didn’t have any seats. So it’s like, but I noticed Kevin Nash got a seat. So I just sort of know , I may finally realize that I don’t think they really fully appreciate me.”
You can hear Bret Hart’s comments in the video below.
Hart has a storied history with SummerSlam, with him having made 11 appearances at the PLE. He was on the card of the very first edition of the event and won his first-ever singles title at SummerSlam 1991.
This incident is truly disheartening, given how much Bret Hart has contributed to the company. Hopefully, as time progresses, fans can hope that WWE corrects this wrong.
