According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE are interested in another Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar WrestleMania main event.
As per the report in the latest edition of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer states that a further clash between the two is a huge temptation that remains on the table WrestleMania 38 in Dallas, Texas, despite The Rock having shown a huge interest in battling his cousin in 2022 when fans return to arenas.
“As far as an idea goes, Reigns vs. Lesnar at a WrestleMania is on the table as an obvious match down the line, but not this year. It’s a story with the Heyman storyline and there are many different ways you could tell it.”
As Meltzer mentions, should WWE choose to go down this route then the storyline already exists on which to build a WrestleMania rivalry between the two stars.
A Brock Lesnar return would either see him pair with Reigns and eventually turn babyface after a clash of personalities, or ‘The Beast’ would simply rage back onto our screens and accuse Paul Heyman of deserting him for more money and power. After giving Heyman an ultimatum of him or ‘The Tribal Chief’, Lesnar would go it alone about the Samoan faction with the support of the paying public.
Should this bout occur, it would be the fifth time both men have met in the middle of the ring which include bouts in the main event of WrestleMania 34, The Greatest Royal Rumble, SummerSlam 2018, WrestleMania 31 and multi-man matches at SummerSlam 2017 and Fastlane 2016.
The current plan for WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns, is to have the star defend his gold against Edge at WrestleMania 37. However, plans are always subject to change as the hectic WrestleMania season takes its toll.
