AEW Double or Nothing 2025 saw several top stars compete, with one of them possibly gaining the attention of WWE before making history last weekend.
Nine matches were part of the main card of AEW Double or Nothing 2025. One of the matches that received a lot of praise was the Anarchy in the Arena match, which saw Kenny Omega, Swerve Strickland, Willow Nightingale, and The Opps defeat Death Riders and The Young Bucks. Not only did the former TBS Champion win, but also made history by being the first woman to compete in the stipulation. As it turns out, WWE also recognizes her potential.
According to PWInsider, WWE was interested in signing Willow Nightingale if she had become a free agent. However, she re-signed with All Elite this month for a “multi-year” deal.
Willow Nightingale signed with AEW in 2021, and aside from being a TBS Champion, she was also the 2023 Women’s Owen Hart Cup Champion.
Willow Nightingale talks about re-signing with AEW
While many AEW stars have jumped ship to WWE these past few months, Willow Nightingale isn’t one of them. As per the star, there’s still business she has to tend to at the Jacksonville-based promotion.
On the Gabby AF podcast, Willow Nightingale shared that she likes the punk rock feel of AEW and its strong following. She added that there’s still a lot for her to do and was incredibly happy in the company.
“I think things that are like cult classics and have strong followings are awesome. We’re like the punk rock show. We’re out here doing things because we’re passionate and we love it, and I don’t think I’m done with it. I think there’s so much more for me to do here. Right now, I’m super, super duper happy.”
It will be interesting to see what is next for Willow Nightingale in AEW.
