WWE In Heavy Discussions About Adding Another International Show In Major Market

Rumour Killer On Major WWE Event Possibly Being Scrapped

According to a recent report, there’s a massive internal push for WWE to hold a big show in one international market.

In recent years, WWE has ramped up the production of major events in international markets. With premium live events streaming across the world on the WWE Network and Peacock, the company is less tied to traditional North American airtimes for their major shows, and in the past year alone, PLE’s have been broadcast from Australia, the UK, Saudi Arabia, France, and Germany.

The company last toured in Japan in July, but according to a new report from WrestleVotes Radio, there’s internal discussion of holding a massive event in the country sometime soon. WrestleVotes reports:

“I think Japan definitely gets something in the future. I know there’s a big push internally for the Japanese market. There’s a lot of Japanese talent on the roster. And I think the last tour they just had over there in Japan was very successful as well.” (h/t WrestlingNews.co)

AJ Styles Updated Fans On His Future In Japan Following WWE Tour

AJ Styles has a storied history in Japan, where he gained fame as a member of the Bullet Club and captured the IWGP Heavyweight Championship during his tenure with NJPW. Recently, Styles returned to Japan for a series of events, including a crossover match with Pro Wrestling NOAH and WWE’s live event tour last July.

In a WWE YouTube video following the tour, Styles hinted at the possibility of this recent tour being his final time performing in Japan. Reflecting on his experiences, Styles explained the significance of wearing a mask during his entrances in Japan:

If you don’t know already, when I’m in Japan, ever since I was with the Bullet Club, I had a mask made for the big shows of the year, and now it’s tradition that I have a mask when I walk out (in Japan). This possibly could be the last one you see on AJ Styles, so let’s get it. (h/t WrestleTalk)
