WWE Has “No Real Plans” For Brian Pillman Jr

Brian Pillman Jr

WWE is unsure of what comes next for Brian Pillman Jr.

The second-generation star left AEW in July after his contract with the promotion expired. Shortly after he became a free agent Pillman Jr. was spotted working out at the Performance Center and later signed a deal with WWE.

In more recent weeks multiple vignettes have aired featuring Pillman Jr. although his identity is yet to be acknowledged. The video clips lean heavily on the success of his father Brian Pillman in WCW and his history with WWE.

Pillman famously signed with WWE in 1996 after leaving WCW in highly controversial circumstances. The star was working for the company at the time of his untimely passing on October 5th, 1997.

The airing of the vignettes seems to hint that the former AEW star will be appearing in NXT in person very soon, but that might not be the case. It’s been reported by Nick Hausman that there are “no real plans” for Pillman Jr. beyond the vignettes.

USA Touts WWE Signing Of Brian Pillman Jr

While WWE might not be sure of what happens next, the USA Network — home of NXT and Raw, recently released a statement hyping Brian Pillman Jr.’s arrival.

The network said the move represented “yet another savvy signing” by WWE, as they “plucked another rising star” away from the competition. The release went on to praise Pillman Jr. as a “world-class athlete.”

In a further update, Brian Pillman Jr is rumoured to have been assigned a new name in WWE.
