This year both WWE and AEW are heading far and wide for huge events.
WWE has already hosted Backlash in Puerto Rico in front of an incredible crowd and in July will hold Money In The Bank in the United Kingdom’s capital city London at the sold out O2 Arena.
The following month AEW brings professional wrestling back to Wembley Stadium for the first time in over twenty years when the second All In takes place.
There are also rumours that WWE is considering a massive supershow in Australia and now one of the company’s biggest stars wants a stadium show to take place in her home town.
Former Raw and SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch revealed on the Mark Andrews on My Love Letter to Wrestling podcast that there have been conversations about WWE hosting another huge event in Ireland.
We were just talking about that. Yes, I gave the venue and all, the RDS, we can have one.I don’t know that we have the population to sustain it, but I think when you have the UK and Europe so close, absolutely.
The RDS Arena is an 18,000 capacity sports stadium, in Dublin, Ireland. The arena is home to a multitude of events such as international football, rugby league and union, horse racing, music concerts and wrestling. In 2005, Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, John Cena and Stone Cold Steve Austin all performed there as part of the Summerbash Tour.
Becky Lynch Recently Returned to WWE
The Man recently got revenge on Trish Stratus when she made an explosive comeback after the Hall of Famer left her lying from a sneak attack on April 10th.
Stratus shockingly turned heel on Lynch after the duo lost the Women’s Tag Team Championships to Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.
Lynch was absent from Monday Night Raw for several weeks following the assault but made sure Stratus got some payback with a sweet right hand to the jaw.
It has been reported that the two will clash at SummerSlam in August.
