One of the biggest stars in the world of boxing would be very open to a WWE return if they were presented with the opportunity.
Making his debut in 1998, Mike Tyson played a huge part in the rivalry between Steve Austin and Shawn Michaels in the lead-up to WrestleMania 14. Additionally, the appearances from the Heavyweight Champion played a huge part in turning the tide in the Monday Night Wars between WWE and WCW in The Attitude Era. Famously counting the pin at Mania, Tyson celebrated the start of The Austin Era and knocked out Michaels after the bell.
Making his return in 2010 as one of the Raw guest hosts, Tyson was booked in a match that saw him team with Chris Jericho to take on D-Generation X. However, Tyson would later reveal his alliance with DX and knock out Jericho in the match. While yet to return on weekly programming, Tyson was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2012.
Although the Hall of Famer made multiple appearances on AEW TV during the pandemic, he has yet to return to WWE. During an interview with Doric Sam of Bleacher Report, Tyson was asked about a possible return:
“Oh God, I would love to do that, that’s me at my childhood best, I had a great time.”
When asked who he would like to work with “Iron” Mike responded that he would welcome all comers:
“Shoot, all of them, let’s get a Battle Royal.”
Former WWE Star Talks Scrapped Steve Austin Plans
As previously mentioned, Tyson played a huge part in Austin winning his first World Championship at WrestleMania 14. Speaking in a recent interview, a former WWE star revealed they were set to feud with Steve Austin but explained why plans were changed.
