WWE Hall Of Famer Wants Asuka As His Mixed Tag Team Partner

WWE Champion Says Asuka Was Supposed To Be Their First Main Roster Opponent

A WWE Hall of Famer has asked for Asuka as his mixed tag-team partner.

One of the most celebrated pro-wrestlers of all time, Rey Mysterio, is a multiple-time Champion and a Hall of Famer. However, at 50 years old, Mysterio has shown no signs of stopping. Recently, while speaking to the No Contest Wrestling Podcast, Mysterio opened up on his desire to see more mixed tag-team wrestling in the promotion as he named his preferred choice of partner.

“I do wish they’d do a little bit more mixed tag matches. I really enjoy those. I think that gets really creative when it comes down to seeing your favorite female superstar and favorite male superstar. I know we’re a little bit sensitive with a man putting his hands on a woman, so we’re trying to stay away from that.”

“I’ll tell you what, I’d probably go with Asuka.”

A wrestling veteran for nearly three decades, Mysterio has yet to have his first mixed tag-team match. Whereas, Asuka is a veteran in this department, having won the inaugural Mixed Match Challenge tournament with The Miz as her partner.

Asuka Addresses Her WWE Return Aftermath

During a recent episode on her YouTube channel, 2025 Queen of the Ring finalist Asuka opened up on her recent return aftermath.

“Hey… welcome to KanaChanTV, and so, we’ve been filming a video in a hurry. This is just a quick video, and I really want to say this: I’m back! I finally made my return to the ring. So, thank you so much for all your support, your kind messages, and your love.

It means more than I can say. It really was a great help to me. I can’t even put it into words. Thank you so much for all your messages and support. Being away for almost a year, it wasn’t easy. This was by no means easy. It was really hard. Well, I’d been away from the ring for almost a year, and it really wasn’t easy, and to be honest, there was some tough days, but I managed to get through it.

But your voice kept me going, really. Well, everyone’s voices were there, so yeah… I guess you could say it never stopped. I guess the point is that I didn’t stop. Now, I’m here again! My match was always intense. Physically and mentally, it has been pushed to the limit. I really do feel like I was on the edge, both mentally and physically. I was able to win the comeback. I would like to talk about this, but this is just the beginning.”
