WWE Hall Of Famer Undergoes Successful Surgery

Afa Sika Rikishi The Bloodline WWE Hall of Famers

WWE Hall of Famer Afa of the Wild Samoans has been discharged from the hospital after a successful surgery.

Afa has undergone a number of health setbacks in recent months. Back in January, he was hospitalized after contracting pneumonia, and during that hospitalization he was also diagnosed as having had two heart attacks.

According to an update from WXW on Facebook, the star underwent surgery on May 9th and has since been released from the hospital. The post reads:

On Thursday, our beloved patriarch Afa the Wild Samoan had a successful TAVR procedure to replace his aortic valve. Yesterday afternoon he was discharged from the hospital! We’re all so grateful that this final hurdle has been passed! Now he has more back rehabilitation to do, but our Pops kicked out again and is one of the strongest human beings in the world! Thank you all for your prayers and concern!

WWE Hall Of Famer Afa Was Part Of The Wild Samoans

A part of the famous Anoa’i Family, The Wild Samoans would capture the Tag Team Championships on 3 separate occasions in the 1980s. Recognized for their contributions to the wrestling world, the brothers were inducted into the Hall of Fame as part of the 2007 class.

The Wild Samoans last appeared on WWE programming in 2020 at the end of the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. Following on from Roman Reigns’ victory over Jey Uso inside the cell, the Hall of Fame tag team would appear at the top of the ramp to acknowledge The Tribal Chief. Sika is Roman Reigns’ father.

In recent news, Afa Anoa’i Sr.’s family have provided an update following false reports of his death.

Everyone at Inside The Ropes sends our best wishes to Afa as he recovers from this procedure.
