WWE Hall Of Famer Turned Down An Appearance At The 2023 Draft

Triple H introducing WWE Draft

As part of the 2023 Draft, WWE brought back a number of legends to get involved in the action.

The likes of Teddy Long, Rob Van Dam, Eric Bischoff, Molly Holly, and JBL all made cameos revealing the picks for respective brands and having fun with the live crowd. In the case of Teddy Long, he told Inside The Ropes that he also snuck in some extracurricular fun with RVD.

However, one man who didn’t appear was Kurt Angle, this was despite being asked to do so. Speaking on the Kurt Angle Show, the WWE legend said that the company asked him to be involved, but due to other commitments, he had to turn them down.

“I was asked to do it and I couldn’t unfortunately. I wish I could have. I would love to be there and and announce a draft pick, but unfortunately I didn’t. I was busy that day and I couldn’t do it. They offered me [to do it] and I had to turn it down unfortunately.”

Drew McIntyre Frustrated With WWE

The two nights of the WWE Draft are nights of surprises for fans, with Superstars moving from one brand to another. This potentially sets up a whole list of new rivalries, while fans eagerly await to see who gets called up from NXT to join the main roster.

However, it seems that the Draft results also came as a surprise to a number of Superstars in the locker room.

A new report has revealed that Drew McIntyre only found out he was moving to Raw when it was announced on television. This is despite him usually being informed ahead of time. The incident is the latest in a growing list of miscommunications between the company and the former World Champion. McIntyre is yet to commit to a new WWE contract and could become a free agent in early 2024.
