Booker T is grateful for Kevin Dunn’s tenure in WWE.
On December 31st, PWInsider reported that longtime WWE Executive Producer Kevin Dunn had given notice to the company and would be leaving after more than 30 years. Nick Khan later confirmed Dunn’s departure in a company email, and production changes have already been evident. According to one report, the relationship between Dunn and WWE had been “getting uglier” toward the end.
The company announced Dunn’s replacement in a January 9th press release, revealing that Lee Fitting would be taking on the role of Head of Media & Production.
Speaking on the latest episode of his Hall of Fame podcast, two-time WWE Hall of Famer Booker T addressed Dunn’s exit, saying the longtime executive was always in his corner.
“Kevin was always in my corner. I worked with that guy for many many years. He was always business, always stern about his business more than anything. He always ran the show very professional. Made everybody look good in so many different ways, from the vignettes and stuff that he produced over the years.”
“I Just Want To Thank Kevin Dunn For All The Hard Work” – Booker T
Continuing, Booker thanked Dunn for his years of hard work with WWE while joking that his only regret was not having WWE purchase Reality of Wrestling.
“I just want to say thank you to Kevin Dunn for all the years of excellence that I had chance to work with him. I only have one regret, almost 20 years ago, 2005, when I opened my wrestling school. Kevin Dunn and the crew came down to check it out and told me, ‘Booker, you get the thing big enough and we’ll buy it.’ Damnit! Damnit! [Laughs]. It’s big enough! I just want to thank Kevin Dunn for all the hard work.”
Elsewhere on the podcast, Booker T revealed he’s working on a script for a biopic about his life.
A recent report gave backstage insight into Triple H’s plans for production changes ahead of Dunn’s exit as well as the internal reaction to changes that have been made.
