Appearances in NXT by main roster WWE Superstars has become commonplace in recent months.

June’s NXT Gold Rush event saw World Heavyweight Champion Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins return to the black and gold brand in a successful title defence against rising Superstar Bron Breakker.

The likes of Baron Corbin and Dana Brooke have also recently returned to the WWE’s developmental territory, with both likely to make their switches permanent.

With crossover from the main roster now more frequent, one WWE Hall Of Famer has suggested that he too could soon make a shocking return to NXT.

WWE Hall Of Famer Edge Hints At NXT Appearance

Back in February 2021 WWE Hall Of Famer Edge appeared on NXT programming to tease a programme with then NXT Champion Finn Balor and number one contender Pete Dunne, now known as Butch of The Brawling Brutes.

The ‘Rated R Superstar’ debuted on WWE Raw in June 1998 and is marking 25 years as a WWE Superstar. During a recent interview on SmackDown LowDown, the former WWE Champion suggested he could continue the celebrations by appearing on NXT:

“It’s a celebration. This is my dream job. I wasn’t meant to do anything else in this world. This is what I was supposed to do, and I’m one of the lucky few that has found what he was supposed to do, and then did it. Not only did it, but [points to himself on a poster at Madison Square Garden].

For me, this is insane. 25 years here, to last that long, if you had told me at the beginning of all this that would be the case, that I’d be celebrating in Madison Square Garden, that next month I’d go to Toronto. Hell, I could go to Monday Night Raw and celebrate. I could go to NXT and celebrate. I could come back here to SmackDown and celebrate. All I know is this month, I’m going to have one hell of a time.”
