A WWE Hall of Famer has dismissed this existing notion about the modern-day work rate theory.
In the wrestling industry for over three decades now, Hall of Famer Kevin Nash is a seasoned veteran of the sport. Although now retired, Nash often provides his thoughts and commentates on several wrestling topics and issues.
A common topic of debate amongst the followers and critics of the sport is the work rate theory. While some promotions prefer to tell stories with their wrestlers, others prefer their stars to showcase their in-ring talent.
On the latest edition of Kliq This podcast, Kevin Nash shared his thoughts on the work rate theory. Dismissing the idea of the modern theory, Nash claimed that ‘work rate’ means telling a story.
“Work rate doesn’t mean doing a bunch of moves. Work rate means telling a story. One of the best workers of all time was [Hulk] Hogan. He had a formula. You fucking knew his formula. It was like Paint By Numbers. You watch him against The Rock in Toronto, and that’s working. That’s the work. The work isn’t whether or not you can land a moonsault. That tells me that you either spent time on a trampoline, time in one of those rooms with a trampoline that you jump on foam cubes, because when I broke in, guys didn’t do that shit.
[Shawn] Michaels would do the flip off the top rope, but he would go up and just say, ‘Catch me. Get a hand on me.’ You didn’t know where the fuck he was going. But this fucking shit of it being a six-man tag and a guy gets stopped and the other four guys are outside fighting and a guy ends up on the top rope and just happens to [flip] onto the other four guys, bye. I’m gone.”

WWE Veteran Kevin Nash Reveals His Choice Of Opponent Between Kenny Omega And Logan Paul
Speaking on a recent edition of Kliq This Podcast,Kevin Nash shared his choice of opponent between WWE and AEW stars, Logan Paul and Kenny Omega.
“I watched a clip the other day and it was Kenny Omega was talking about Logan Paul. They showed Logan Paul walking up a corridor, and he made the reference that he was the greatest worker in the world. He said, ‘He’s athletic, but send him to New Japan for a tour and have him go out and give you a banger every night. He can’t do that.’ Go work someplace where you got the guy sitting across from you is going, ‘Don’t understand. Don’t understand,’ and you’re going, ‘I’m trying to get my sh*t in.’
That’s the difference, and Kenny knows that. If I had to tomorrow at 65 years old, if I had to have a match with Logan or Kenny, I’m gonna pick Kenny because I know Kenny can work without a f*cking net, and I don’t know if Logan can. From what I’ve heard from people that worked with him, he can’t,”
In other news: Logan Paul has named the wrestling move he is never performing again.
