Tammy Sytch, better known to wrestling fans as WWE Hall of Famer Sunny, allegedly caused a car accident last month in which a 75 year old man died.
Sunny is no stranger to landing herself in legal trouble, having been arrested multiple times since the start of 2022. Back in January, the WWE Hall of Famer was arrested for terroristic threats and weapons charges, and she was taken into custody again in February for multiple charges. Both times, it was reported that she appeared to be under the influence.
Now, a new report from TMZ indicates that Sytch is once again in hot water after allegedly causing a car accident in which a 75 year old man died. The report states that police on the scene suspect she was under the influence of alcohol at the time. According to police documents, the accident occurred at about 8:28pm on March 25th on US Highway 1 in Volusia County, Florida.
The documents state that Sytch was driving a 2012 Mercedes when she collided into the rear of a 2013 Kia Sorento that was stopped at a traffic light. The Kia then crashed into a 2011 GMC Yukon that had also been stopped at the light. According to police, witnesses claim that Sunny was driving at a “high rate of speed” before the collision.
TMZ notes that according to police documents, the driver of the Kia was taken to the hospital, where he later passed away from injuries as a result of the accident. Sytch was also transported to the hospital with undisclosed injuries. Documents state that the driver and passengers in the Yukon complained of multiple injuries but were not taken to the hospital as a result.
In a statement to TMZ on behalf of the Ormond Beach Police Department, a spokesperson indicated that the results of a toxicology report could determine whether criminal charges are brought against Sunny following the crash.
“OBPD has requested an expedited timeframe on the processing of these samples, and the results will be made available as soon as the department receives them.”
This is far from Tammy Sytch’s first brush with the law. She spent 8 months in jail in 2018 after missing multiple court dates following several DUI charges. In February 2019, the 2011 WWE Hall Of Fame inductee was once again arrested for a DUI, her sixth arrest for that offence.
