WWE Hall Of Famer Scott Steiner Responds To Steroid Accusations

Former WCW and WWE star Scott Steiner has responded to claims that he used steroids during his professional wrestling career.

Originally one-half of The Steiner Brothers tag team alongside Rick Steiner, the former WCW World Champion betrayed his brother at SuperBrawl VIII in 1998 before joining the nWo. Debuting a new look, Steiner dyed his hair blond and would eventually evolve into his Big Poppa Pump persona complete with the chainmail headgear and sunglasses. In addition to the cosmetic changes, Steiner’s physique altered substantially in a very short space of time with a considerable amount of increased muscle mass, which many fans have attributed to steroids.

Asked about the accusations on an A&E Biography show about The Steiner Brothers, the Hall of Famer stated that he had never failed a drug test and put the transformation down to a strict diet:

“You can make all the accusations you want. I’ve never failed a drug test. Take that information and do what you want with it. When I made the transition from Steiner Brothers to Big Poppa Pump, I wanted to get in the best shape I possibly could. A lot of strict diet. Once you are leaner, you’re naturally going to look bigger.”

“I Never Failed A Drug Test”: Scott Steiner

In a previous interview with Slam Sports, Steiner stated that he would have taken a drug test if Triple H took one at the same time, but was never asked again:

“I’ve never failed a drug test in my life. When WWE told me to take one, I told them to have Triple H pick me up in a limo. We could go test together. (laughs) They never asked again!”

In a previous interview, Scott Steiner recalled a very physical match with a fellow Hall of Famer.

In a new interview, Scott Steiner assessed Bron Breakker’s main roster run.
