WWE Hall Of Famer Says Bad Bunny Should Have Main Evented WWE Backlash

Bad Bunny at WWE Backlash

WWE Backlash featuring Bad Bunny will go as one of the shows of the year.

The Premier Live Event was the first time the company had been in Puerto Rico in over a decade. The last time the company was on the island was for New Year’s Revolution 2005, an event headlined by an Elimination Chamber match featuring Triple H, Batista, Randy Orton, Chris Jericho, Edge, and Chris Benoit.

Due to these reasons, the anticipation for the event was high and it definitely lived up to the hype. The crowd were electric throughout the entirety of the show. Their support for stars like IYO SKY and Zelina Vega was tremendous but the loudest pop of the night goes to the multi-award-winning hip-hop megastar.

The hometown hero was greeted with a thunderous ovation followed by the crowd singing his own song back to him as entered to face fellow Puerto Rican Damian Preist in a San Juan Street Fight.

The match was highly praised by fans and pundits alike. One of those who complimented the match was two-time Hall of Famer Booker T, however, he thinks it should have headlined the show over Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar.

Booker T Believes Bad Bunny Should Have Been In The Main Event Of WWE Backlash

Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion said:

“You [have to] understand when the crowd is going to be at its peak, and that was when Bad Bunny was going to come out. Bad Bunny in Puerto Rico — I don’t give a damn who you got on the card, that’s the main event.”

Booker went on to praise the musician, and actor for his performance in the ring.

“Bunny makes it as real as he possibly can. That right there … is something that I try to preach to these young guys about. You don’t have to be a great wrestler in order to make it feel a certain way. You don’t have to actually know how to do it if you act like you know how to do it pretty good.”
