The Royal Rumble is always one of the most exciting Premium Live Events on the WWE calendar, with surprise returns, debuts and cameos regularly taking place during the eponymous 30-man battle royal match.
It is also the first step on the road to WrestleMania, with the winners of both the Men’s and Women’s matches going on to challenge for a World Championship at the biggest show of the year.
Names such as Cody Rhodes have already been rumoured to make an appearance in the Royal Rumble match, but a WWE Hall of Famer has recently thrown their name into the hat, describing themselves as ‘prepared’ for a potential spot in the Rumble.
Booker T On A Potential Royal Rumble Appearance
WWE Hall of Famer Booker T made his in-ring return for the first time in two years back in July and is also scheduled to wrestle at Reality of Wrestling’s Christmas Chaos event on December 18th.
Speaking on a recent edition of his ‘Hall of Fame’ podcast, Booker said he is prepared for a potential in-ring return to WWE if the opportunity arises to appear in the Royal Rumble match:
“I will be checking the mail everyday all the way up until that day, because if I get an invitation I’m definitely going to execute it, I’m definitely going to be there and I’m going to be prepared to be in the middle of the ring if that happens”
However, the former 5-time WCW Champion did confirm that there has been no offer from WWE regarding an appearance in the 30-man match:
“But no, nobody’s talked to me or anything like that about being in the Rumble. I don’t have any itches to scratch or anything like that, but hey man, I’m always down.”
Regarding rumours of Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson potentially making an appearance in the Royal Rumble, Booker T explained why the Hollywood star would have to win the match if he does indeed appear.
