A WWE Hall of Famer has admitted that fans may not have seen their final match.
Retirements in wrestling have become somewhat of a punchline over the years with only a select few remaining true to their word after competing one last time.
Reuniting with Bully Ray, D-Von Dudley has competed in 3 matches in 2023 and 2024, which included a match on the 1000th episode of Impact.
Appearing on the Wrestling Life podcast, the Hall of Famer told Ben Veal that fans will always ask for one more match regardless of whether or not a wrestler has retired. However, in regards to his own status, the former Tag Team Champion teased that there might be more matches down the road:
“Here’s what I’m gonna tell you: every time you do one match, you say ‘one more match,’ and then the fans are going ‘one more match’ after that. Listen, they’re not gonna stop until you’re in the grave. You know, but I don’t know, I’m not gonna say never. There are some talks about things happening, whether it’s here in the states or even abroad in Japan. So, nothing, it’s just talks, that’s it. Nothing is being set in stone or anything like that. I’m saying that there were rumblings and talks about it.”
D-Von Dudley made a cameo appearance back in November as part of the NXT show at the 2300 Arena. Reuniting with Bully Ray once more, D-Von brought out for Ray and Trick Williams to get revenge on Ethan Page. Following the appearance, it was reported that the ECW legend was not cleared for physicality.
Another WWE Hall Of Famer Teases Comeback
With the bright lights and the roar of the crowd hard to escape from, many legends have hinted that their time in the ring is not over. During a recent interview, Trish Stratus noted that 2025 will mark 25 years since her debut and the Hall of Famer has hinted that a return may be on the cards.
