Rey Mysterio made an impact on his return to WWE after a four-month absence.

On the November 10th episode of SmackDown, Rey Mysterio suffered a brutal attack at the hands of Santos Escobar, who dropkicked a set of steel steps into the WWE Hall of Famer’s leg. A few days later, Rey Mysterio announced that he had undergone knee surgery, but vowed revenge on Escobar when he was able to return.

That return finally came on the March 1st edition of SmackDown. On the show, Mysterio’s fellow LWO member Carlito faced Escobar in a Street Fight. Escobar wasn’t alone as Angel and Humberto came to his aid. As the three men beat down Carlito, the LWO’s Cruz Del Toro and Joaquin Wilde attempted to make the save, only to find themselves left lying on the outside.

At that, Rey Mysterio’s music hit, and the star made his way to the ring on crutches. However, as Humberto and Angel moved to take him out, he attacked them with his crutches before taking out Escobar with a 619. This allowed Carlito to drive the Legado Del Fantasma leader through a table for the victory. After the match the LWO hoisted Mysterio on their shoulders as they celebrated in the ring
