WWE Hall Of Famer Makes AAA Appearance Following Recent Acquisition

WWE & AAA Issue Statements On Latest Acquisition

Just weeks after WWE’s acquisition of AAA, a Hall of Famer made his appearance on the show.

Just a few hours before WrestleMania 41, WWE announced its official acquisition of Lucha Libre AAA. Soon, the promotion’s chief content officer, Triple H, also shared his statement on the acquisition.

Now, within just a few weeks of the news, Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio made his official appearance on the show. A former part of the AAA roster, Mysterio made his return and briefly appeared in a video package at the beginning of AAA’s show on Saturday. For the first episode, the promotion following the acquisition, Rey Mysterio kicked off the show.

The former World Champion didn’t appear in person at the AAA event, and that may be due to his current health reasons. A few days ago, Rey Mysterio officially announced on Instagram that he was set to undergo surgery for a torn abductor.

Mysterio is not the only AAA alum on the World Wrestling Entertainment roster, as Rey Fenix, Penta, and Dragon Lee have all their roots in AAA, and have been prompted for a return as well following the acquisition.

Former WWE Champion Wants To Retire With Randy Orton And Rey Mysterio

A wrestling veteran for over two decades, former women’s champion Natalya recently opened up on her retirement plans. Appearing on the Nikki & Brie Show with Nikki Bella & Brie Bella, she said,

“I just feel so good. People say to me, ‘When are you going to hang it up?’ I’m going to hang it up when Randy Orton hangs it up, when Rey Mysterio hangs it up. When I look at Randy, he’s in the best shape of his life. Rey is in the best shape of his life. What I love now in WWE is we’re not letting a number define what people can do. That’s the great thing about this era. If you’re good at what you do, you go in there and rock it. I actually feel like I’m in better shape than I’ve ever been in my life. Knock on wood, I wake up every morning pain free.”
