WWE Hall of Famer Kane made a shock appearance on SmackDown to host the homecoming of Knoxville’s favourite daughter Bianca Belair.
Kane who hasn’t been seen in a WWE ring since appearing in the 2021 Royal Rumble entered the arena to a huge ovation. The Hall of Famer was also on home ground as he currently serves as the Mayor of Knox County.
The former WWE Champion’s last appearance on WWE television came when he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in April of 2021.
After The Big Red Machine announced Bianca Belair to the ring, the EST of WWE pointed out her family at ringside before declaring her love for hometown. Belair admitted that Becky Lynch had got the best of her at SummerSlam but she’s determined to right that wrong at Extreme Rules.
Kane said that Belair should return to Knoxville once she’s regained the SmackDown Women’s Championship before presenting her with the key to the county. After the pair embraced, Belair led the fans in a rendition of Rocky Top.
This brought out Becky Lynch who said that while Belair had the key to the county, she didn’t have the SmackDown Women’s Title. The Man offered her hand to her challenger for a handshake, which Belair reluctantly accepted. As Lynch turned to leave, Belair kept her grip and attempted to hit her rival with a KOD. However, Lynch slipped out and left Belair laying with a Man-handle Slam.
