WWE Hall Of Famer Jeff Jarrett Shares The Worst Injury Of His Career

WWE Hall of Famer Jeff Jarrett opened up about the most severe injury of his career, sustained during a Steel Cage Match against fellow Hall of Famer Jimmy Snuka.

Speaking on his podcast, My World, Jarrett detailed the January 10th episode of WCW Monday Nitro, where the incident occurred. The match’s climax saw Snuka deliver a splash from the top of the steel cage onto Jarrett. While the move went as planned, the impact left Jarrett with serious injuries, including whiplash and a concussion.

“I knew, ‘Okay, Jimmy’s jumping off, I need to brace myself and prepare myself, but I am going to be laying right for him if I need to scoot over. And he’s like, ‘No brother, I’ll get you, I’ll make sure you’re close enough in.’”

Jarrett described having full confidence in Snuka’s ability to position the move correctly.

“When I looked up, I had a comfort level that he’s jumping up, all that.”

Despite Snuka landing perfectly, the force of the 260-pound veteran crashing onto him caused Jarrett’s head to whip back violently, striking the mat.

“It doesn’t matter how strong I was, the whiplash, and my head smacking the back of the mat.”

After the match, Jarrett sought medical attention and received a diagnosis from a WCW doctor.

“It took me a while of going to Dr. Tim to get the diagnosis, and he was checking me out. My neck, all the way around, just a horrible case of whiplash on top of a concussion.”
