WWE Hall Of Famer JBL Elaborates On Recent Independent Appearances

WWE Hall of Famer John Bradshaw Layfield has commented on his many surprise appearances in the professional wrestling world.

Over the past few months, the former World Champion has been seen in GCW, MLW, TNA and AAA. Making unannounced appearances, the Hall of Famer has regularly gotten physical but has yet to address why he keeps showing up unexpectedly.

Speaking on Huge Pop, the former World Champion stated that he did not want his final appearance in the wrestling world to be his short alliance with Baron Corbin:

“I hope to do something. You mentioned Baron Corbin, and I feel bad because if you’re going to blame somebody, blame me. I’m the old guy. I don’t want that to be my last memory from wrestling. If my last memory was Rey Mysterio and 23 seconds, that’s how I wanted to go out. The Von Erichs were going into the Hall of Fame, it was in Texas. It was a perfect swan song. Then, I came back and it didn’t work. I don’t want that to be the last. I don’t know what I’m going to do. I have some ideas, but hopefully that won’t be the swan song.”

The Hall of Famer did not explain how the appearances are linked or where he plans to appear next.

Is JBL Still Signed To WWE?

With the former World Champion making numerous appearances outside of WWE, speculation began as to whether or not the former wrestler and announcer was still under contract. According to a recent report, JBL’s WWE status has since been clarified.

H/t to Fightful.
