Booker T has given his thoughts on the recent match between Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker, tipping his hat to the NXT star in the process.
Bron Breakker burst onto the scene with the launch of NXT 2.0 and had been pegged as a major star before even making his television debut. However, come the start of 2023, Breakker remained with the developmental brand and some fans had begun to tire of his presentation, claiming it was bland and unimaginative.
Even NXT commentator and WWE Hall of Famer Booker T got in on the action, suggesting that he needed to find more gears and learn how to connect with the audience. Shortly after these comments, Breakker turned heel and his move to the dark side has reinvigorated his WWE career. He’s even gone as far to say that he’s got a better spear than Roman Reigns.
The second-generation star’s most recent televised match came against Seth Rollins where he attempted to win the World Heavyweight Title. The match was praised across social media and it seems fans weren’t the only ones who were impressed.
Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker praised Breakker for his performance, commenting that it’s exactly the kind of thing he wants to see.
“I thought it was a hell of a match. You guys didn’t get a chance to see all of it because some of it happened in the commercial breaks, but the NXT Universe there, man, they got a chance to see exactly what Bron Breakker was all about. What I liked about Bron, he was calm, cool, and collected. He was walking and talking. Of course, he was in there with a professional. He was in there with a vet, a guy that was going to be able to take him to the Promised Land and let him feel something while he’s out there doing it as opposed to just doing it,”
No Heat On Bron Breakker For His Father’s Comments
During WrestleMania 39 weekend, Bron Breakker’s father Rick Steiner sparked controversy at a signing event, making a series of derogatory transphobic remarks about IMPACT Wrestling star Gisele Shaw.
Steiner was condemned far and wide because of the incident and according to a new report, he won’t be appearing with WWE any time soon as a result. However, Breakker’s standing within the company remains unaffected, with a source noting there are “no issues” around the star.
