WWE Hall Of Famer Hacksaw Jim Duggan Reveals His Favourite Opponent

Hacksaw Jim Duggan

WWE Hall Of Famer ‘Hacksaw’ Jim Duggan enjoyed a legendary in-ring career, battling some of the biggest names in the history of the industry including Andre The Giant, ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage and Yokozuna. The fan favourite was recently asked about his favourite opponent and selected another WWE Hall Of Famer for the top spot.

WWE Hall Of Famer Hacksaw Jim Duggan names Ted Dibiase as favourite opponent

Appearing on a recent watch-along livestream for Conrad Thompson’s popular AdFreeShows brand, Duggan highlighted ‘Million Dollar Man’ Ted Dibiase as his favourite Superstar to share the ring with during his career.

Duggan’s choice was perhaps influenced not just by his WWE days, with he and Dibiase crossing paths many years before their WWE debuts both as partners and opponents;

I wrestled Ted a bunch, all over the place. When I came into Mid-South, I was still green. I had only been in the business like four years, I didn’t know anything. They put me and DiBiase and [Matt] Bourne together as the Rat Pack, and I started to learn the business. And I learned a lot from Ted over the years

Duggan and Dibiase met in the first round of the 14-man tournament for the vacant WWE Championship at Wrestlemania 4, with the ‘Million Dollar Man’ progressing after outside interference from Andre The Giant. Dibiase would go on to reach the tournament final before losing out to ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage.

Duggan would feud briefly with Dibiase’s son, Ted Dibiase Junior, and his then-partner Cody Rhodes in 2008 before winding up his in-ring career and eventually being inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame in 2011. Duggan was introduced into the Hall Of Fame by friend and former foe Dibiase.

‘Hacksaw’ made headlines in recent months after bravely tackling an intruder into his home, and more recently had the sad duty of announcing friend Lanny Poffo’s passing in early February.
