WWE Hall of Famer Arn Anderson has found the funny side to the latest crossover project to feature Cody Rhodes.
The promotion recently partnered up with the popular video game franchise Call of Duty, which enables fans to play the Warzone mode as Rhea Ripley, Rey Mysterio or The American Nightmare. With screenshots of the stars in action now uploaded to social media, Anderson has made a callback to his famous AEW promo.
Responding to an image of Rhodes holding an assault rifle in the game, Anderson stated that Rhodes finally listened to his words of wisdom nearly 3 years later:
I guess Cody finally took my advice
For those unaware, in September 2021 Rhodes was mentored by Anderson in AEW. As Rhodes cut a passionate promo after his match, an angry Anderson hit back at The American Nightmare with his famous “Glock” promo. Accusing Rhodes of being soft, Anderson stated that if anyone ever tried to steal his car then he would “pull out the Glock, put it on his forehead and spill his brains all over the concrete.”
Arn Anderson is also no longer a part of AEW, confirming his departure in May 2024.
Cody Rhodes Looks Back On WWE Return
In one of the more shocking stories to take place in 2022, Rhodes announced his departure from AEW in February and became the first major name to leave the company since its inception in 2019. Returning to WWE at WrestleMania 38 as the mystery opponent for Seth Rollins, Rhodes received a very positive welcome from the fans and has remained the top babyface ever since. Looking back on his return, Cody Rhodes admitted that it could have gone very differently.
