WWE Hall Of Famer Explains Why They Want To See CM Punk Challenge Cody Rhodes At WrestleMania

A WWE Hall of Famer wants CM Punk to be the last man standing in the Elimination Chamber, earning a shot at Cody Rhodes in the process.

The line-up for the Men’s Elimination Chamber match is now set with Punk joining John Cena, Drew McIntyre, Logan Paul, Damian Priest and Seth Rollins inside the steel structure. With Royal Rumble winner Jey Uso selecting World Heavyweight Champion in the process, the winner of the match on March 1st will go one on one with The American Nightmare at WrestleMania 41, likely in the main event of night 2.

Although Cena is a fan favourite to win the match given that this will be his final Mania and is looking to win the 17th World Championship to break the record, The Undertaker has a different pick in mind.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, The Deadman noted that if Punk won the match then it would not be a straight babyface vs. babyface match, as would be the case if Cena won:

“I think there’s potential for more edge with Punk and Cody, more so than a traditional babyface [versus] babyface. They’re pretty much both yucky babyfaces [John Cena and Cody Rhodes]…where Punk is not afraid to get out there on the fringe and push some envelopes. I look at it like this: John has made…his call; this is the last run. He’s got all year to do something. Obviously, ‘Mania is such a huge part of our deal. I’m thinking business-wise, I think Punk may be the call.”

CM Punk Would Have Booked Royal Rumble Differently

An entrant in the 2025 Royal Rumble match, Punk picked up 2 of the biggest eliminations of the night as he threw Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins over the top rope. However, Punk was also eliminated from the match moments later by Logan Paul. Shortly after the Royal Rumble, CM Punk admitted that if it were up to him he would have chosen a different winner for the match.
