A WWE Hall of Famer would love to see Goldberg’s final match take place in the United Kingdom.
Still yet to confirm that he has hit his final Jackhammer, many are expecting to see the Hall of Famer appear inside a wrestling ring at least one more time before all is said and done. While fans don’t know when the WCW star will turn up next or when it might be, Eric Bischoff is hopeful that the match would take place in the UK if it were ever to happen.
Discussing how he would book a retirement match for the former World Champion on 83 Weeks, Bischoff stated that the strong fanbase in the UK would likely give the Hall of Famer the best reaction:
“The wrestling community in the UK is so strong,” said Bischoff. “That would be my first choice if I was promoting it or I was Bill Goldberg would be the UK.”
“Bill Goldberg has a tremendous footprint in the UK based on his time in WCW and all the things he did on ‘Nitro’ and certainly his most recent run in WWE,” said Bischoff. “You know he has a massive amount of equity in the UK and you know the market is there.”
The last time that the Hall of Famer competed in a televised match in the UK was back in 2000 when Goldberg defeated Buff Bagwell on an episode of Thunder that was taped in Manchester. The Hall of Famer last competed in 2022 and lost to Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber in Saudi Arabia.
Cold Goldberg Appear At Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport?
Throughout his wrestling career, the former World Champion has only ever competed in WCW and later WWE with seemingly no interest in appearing in other promotions such as AEW, which Goldberg has previously branded as “too cheesy.” However, when being interviewed about dream combatants for a future Bloodsport event, Josh Barnett named Goldberg as someone he would love to see appear.
Also on his podcast, Eric Bischoff explained why this match stipulation is no longer relevant.
