WWE Hall of Famer Expected To Make Raw Return

On the February 6th edition of WWE Raw, Lita made a shock return to help Becky Lynch overcome Bayley and the interfering Damage CTRL in a huge Cage Match.

The Hall of Famer quickly attacked IYO SKY and left her laying with a Twist of Fate. The distraction allowed Lynch to get the upper hand in the ring and deliver a Man-Handle Slam for the win. After the match, Lita celebrated with Lynch in the ring, a year after the pair wrestled at Elimination Chamber. The moment was especially poignant for Lita as she wrestled in the first women’s Cage Match in WWE history back in 2003.

This was followed by reports that fellow WWE legend Trish Stratus would be returning to Raw a week later, and also appearing at Elimination Chamber. However, shortly before the show, it was noted that plans had changed and the angle involving Stratus has been scrapped, at least for the time being.

Despite this, it seems that Stratus will be back on WWE television soon. Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer noted that the angle is expected to be revisited. This tallies with the earlier report from WRKD Wrestling which stated that Stratus would be back for a “lengthy program.”

“Trish Stratus was at one point scheduled for Raw on 2/13 at the Barclays Center but it was canceled. The reports were it was due to Kai’s injury. On paper it sounds like they were trying to build Lynch & Lita & Stratus vs. Damage Ctrl. We were told that the Stratus angle isn’t dead and that the match wasn’t scheduled for Elimination Chamber.

Kai & Sky defending the women’s tag titles against Rousey & Baszler is still on for Mania. Whether that means Damage Ctrl would work twice over Mania or something completely different isn’t known at this point, only that there was a planned angle for this past week to bring Stratus back that was canceled and is still expected to be revisited at some point”

When Did Trish Stratus Wrestle For WWE?

Trish Stratus hasn’t wrestled since losing out to Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam in 2019. The star ended her full-time career in 2006 but has still wrestled on occasion, including teaming with Lita at Evolution in 2018.

Trish Stratus last appeared on Raw back in August in her hometown of Toronto, Canada. On that occasion, her promo was interrupted by Bayley and Damage CTRL. In a back-and-forth segment that also featured Bianca Belair, Stratus threatened to come out of retirement to face Bayley.
