Sgt. Slaughter has hit out a current WWE SmackDown star despite them not wrestling for the company in a number of weeks.
Lacey Evans hasn’t wrestled on WWE television since November 11th in a six-pack challenge to crown a new number one contender for the SmackDown Women’s Title. Prior to that, Evans wrestled twice in September, which in turn were her first matches since July. Following her disappearance from WWE programming, it seems that the star is being repackaged with a number of vignettes airing leaning heavily on her history with the United States Marines.
Sgt Slaughter No Fan Of WWE SmackDown Star
On the January 6th episode of SmackDown, the latest vignette featuring Evans was broadcast. The short clip, again plays up her background in the marines, shows her fighting three unnamed women in the ring. The video ends with her using the Cobra Clutch, seemingly confirming that the move will be her new finishing move.
However, the video didn’t go down well with WWE legend Sgt Slaughter. The veteran famously popularised the Cobra Clutch in WWE and revealed that Evans didn’t ask to use to the move, despite it usually being common practice. After writing “Lacey Who? Slaughter responded to a fan on social media noting she was using his move.
“I Like Lacy WHO? It’s Just Using My “Infamous” COBRA CLUTCH Without Consulting ME & Getting My Permission That Is Very Very Disrespectful At Least Let Me Show & Train You How To Use The Most Decorated Finishing Maneuver In The History of Pro Wrestling.”

Evans signed with WWE in 2016 following a career in the United States Marines. After a stint in NXT, Evans arrived on the main roster 2019 and has appeared on both Raw and SmackDown.
The star was recently on the end of significant social media backlash after making controversial comments about autism and ADD.
