Lex Luger is set to be inducted into the 2025 WWE Hall of Fame.
Earlier this year, current World Champion Cody Rhodes surprised veteran Lex Luger at the DDPY Performance Center and announced his 2025 Hall of Fame nomination. Last competed in WWE over 30 years ago, Luger is set to be inducted into this year’s HOF class.
On a recent episode of his “Hall of Fame” podcast, two-time Hall of Famer Booker T opened up on Luger’s Hall of Fame induction. Crediting him for his achievements, the NXT announcer stated:
“It’s a no-brainer for me. I’m glad. I’m really happy to see him actually get the nod because he did a hell of a lot for the business.”
Despite the praises, he also commented on Luger’s disputed nature. Booker T claimed that he was glad about how Luger did not let his issues or emotions guide his decision.
“You know, a lot of times people hold grudges in this business a lot. That may be the reason why a lot of guys get in and don’t get in, but I tell you what. As far as deserving, Lex Luger is definitely deserving.”
Luger was a part of both WWE and WCW and won the WCW World Heavyweight Champion twice. He also played an integral role during the “Monday-Night Wars” between Raw and Nitro. Luger had a controversial run in World Wrestling Entertainment and did not win any titles there.
However, overcoming his past, Luger is now set to be a part of the 2025 Hall of Fame class alongside Triple H, Michelle McCool, and The Natural Disasters.
WWE Veteran Booker T Comments On Lex Luger’s Recovery
Luger suffered a spinal stroke in 2007, which left him completely paralyzed. However, with therapy and help from Diamond Dallas Page, the veteran has recently regained some mobility. Speaking of his recovery, Booker T further commented on his podcast,
“He’s been such a stand-up dude, even going through what he’s been going through. I give him so much freaking credit because he could be bitter. He could be mad at the world, and every time I’ve seen Lex Luger, he’s always had nothing but a smile on his face.
I was with him just last year at a convention, and he was right next to me. He smiled all freaking day. Big ups to Lex Luger going into the Hall of Fame.”
