WWE Hall Of Famer Claims Charlotte Flair Was Handed Her Spot Due To Her “Lineage”

Charlotte Flair entrance on SmackDown

Charlotte Flair is the most decorated woman in WWE history, but according to one WWE legend, she had a little help getting there.

The Queen is of course the daughter of 16-time World Champion and two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair.

Speaking in a new interview with Alfred Konuwa for Forbes, Lita was asked about the upcoming SmackDown Women’s Title match between Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley. Flair has been champion since December 30th, 2022, while Ripley won the women’s Royal Rumble a month later.

The WWE Hall of Famer explained that she’ll be rooting for Ripley as she’s “created” her spot, while Flair was “presented” with a spot because of her “lineage.”

“Charlotte’s natural role is to be a heel, right? Because it’s like that overconfident vibe. I almost wonder if Rhea is going to bring that out of Charlotte because you can only get shown up with confidence so much before Charlotte puts it back in your face.

I know she is the heel in this match, but I’m rooting for [Rhea Ripley] because Charlotte has earned her shot, but she was also presented with a spot because of her lineage, and has just stepped up and continues to rise to the occasion. Whereas I do feel like Rhea created her spot, and she’s just getting started, but it has culminated in this high-profile match at WrestleMania.”

Charlotte Flair Vs. Rhea Ripley To Headline Night 1 Of WrestleMania 39?

In recent days it has been reported that the match between Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley would be the main event of WrestleMania 39 night one. Interestingly, this report stated that there were “political reasons” for this decision. However, a more recent update suggested that at present nothing has been decided.

Some have pushed for the yet-to-be-announced tag team match between The Usos and Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn to take the headline spot.
