Brock Lesnar has had quite the journey to WrestleMania 39.
At one point or another, there have been five different opponents penciled in for The Beast at WWE’s biggest show of the year. This list has included, Steve Austin, Gunther, Bobby Lashley, and Bray Wyatt, all before the match with Omos was finally made.
While the match with Austin was turned down on the WWE Hall of Famer’s side, and WWE is reportedly holding back the clash with the Intercontinental Champion, the match with Wyatt collapsed due to Lesnar. It has been reported that the star turned down the match with Wyatt, which changed the outcome of his match against Bobby Lashley at Extreme Rules.
This set up a planned WrestleMania match between Wyatt and Lashley.
Speaking on Sportskeeda’s WrestleBinge podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long backed Lesnar’s decision to refuse the match with Wyatt.
That’s not his niche, so I don’t blame him. You do what you’re told if they ask you, but ‘why should I?'”
Not that Long is too enthusiastic about wanting to see Lesnar face Omos either. The former referee said that the match “doesn’t do anything for him.”
Brock Lesnar Heading To WrestleMania, Bray Wyatt Maybe Not
Despite Bray Wyatt heading for a match with Bobby Lashley at the spectacular in California, it appears that there’s a growing possibility he will miss the show. The star is reportedly dealing with an unspecified medical issue, which isn’t expected to keep him out long-term. However, after the March 20th episode of Raw came and went without any mention of Lashley or Wyatt, it has been reported that it “looks like he’s off the show.”
