A WWE Legend shared some insights about Seth Rollins‘ current character not clicking with him.
On the latest episode of his 83 Weeks with Eric Bischoff Podcast, the former WCW boss admitted that Rollins’ on-screen persona has not been connecting with him, even though he is a great wrestler.
In a conversation about last night’s SNME event, co-host Derek Sabato asked the WWE legend how some heel characters who were not supposed to be cheered on TV were getting positive reactions, especially in the case of The Architect. Sabato even suggested that Seth change his entrance music to fit his current gimmick.
To this, Bischoff said:
“Look I respect the hell out of Seth Rollins, Seth Rollins is a phenomenal performer, he’s a great character. I am just not connecting with him, and I should be because the guy’s amazing. But the character is just not hitting the chord”
Adding further, he stated that this was just his opinion as he doesn’t follow wrestling week-on-week and says that while he doesn’t discredit Seth’s talent, the character as a whole has not been relatable to him, and agrees that Rollins might need some change.
“Write that off as that just me man, I am 70 years old and I am not watching wrestling every week so I am not in it, I am not engaged therefore my opinion is just really my opinion, couldn’t expect anyone to have it. But for me he just doesn’t click, just as a character, an entertainment property, as an actor, take his ring work out and all out if it. Just what am I getting when I see this character come out of the curtain? It just misses the mark and maybe that’s it. He may just need a change. But yeah, it doesn’t work for me.”
The Visionary could introduce a new character in due course or keep developing his current gimmick. It remains to be seen how things pan out.
Seth Rollins Adds Returning WWE Star To His Stable
In a shocking twist that no one saw coming, Bronson Reed made his return at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event and aligned with Seth Rollins’ stable, along with Bron Breakker and Paul Heyman.
Reed put CM Punk through a barricade, helped his new allies win the match, and delivered a post-match beating on Sami Zayn to complete an unexpected comeback.
What made this truly baffling was that Bronson had viciously attacked Rollins last year and put him on the shelf. With Rollins claiming that the future of WWE would run with him at the helm, it does make sense for The Visionary to ally with promising powerhouse talents.
