A WWE Hall of Famer and former champion has hit out at a current NXT star for re-enacting one of their most famous moments.
On the July 19th edition of NXT 2.0 Cora Jade signalled the end of her partnership with Roxanne Perez by putting her NXT Women’s Tag Team Title belt in the trash.
The segment was a tip of the hat to Madusa famously putting the WWF Women’s Title into the trash in 1995 when she appeared on WCW Nitro.
A week after Jade had decided she was down with the NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles, Madusa appeared on the show bringing Perez the garbage can where the belt had been deposited. She went on to announced Fatal-Four-way match to decide new champions. That bout was won by Kayden Carter and Katana Chance, who continue to hold the titles.
Speaking in a new interview with SEScoops, WWE Hall of Famer Madusa hit out at Cora Jade for “stealing her gimmick,” before adding that “at least that b*tch got to keep her job.”
“The Cora Jade throwing the belt in the trash, what was that? They keep trying to steal my gimmick,” said Madusa. “What is that? You’ll never be able to do it. The thing is when I saw that, I said, ‘Well damn at least that b*tch got to keep her job.”
While the star who was also known as Alundra Blayze has only appeared in one match since September 2000, she admitted that she has thought about having a proper retirement match. However, she conceded that the opportunity may have passed.
