AEW prides itself on the quality of its matches, and the ability of its wrestlers to push the boundaries of what’s possible every time they step in the ring. But one WWE Hall of Famer believes that this approach comes with a price.
Speaking on his Kilq This podcast, Kevin Nash explained that the hard-hitting, high-risk style employed by so many in the company will come back to haunt them in years to come, describing the in-ring work as “reckless.”
“And that also increases the chance of f***ing — because their style is so, I’ll just use the term reckless,”
One man who is often cited as the personification of this issue is Sammy Guevara. From his death-defying Ladder Match with Cody Rhodes in January 2022, to his regular singles matches, Guevara has never seen a risk that he didn’t want to take.
When discussing the Spanish God specifically, Nash said wondered how many times he can keep attempting high-risk moves until he misses and something goes wrong.
“How many times can he do a 55 Gainer and hit a guy perfectly going through a table or a ladder before he f***ing misses?”
Sammy Guevara And Tay Melo Expecting Their First Child
At Double or Nothing, Sammy Guevara took on Jungle Boy, Darby Allin, and MJF and he attempted to win the AEW World Title. However, Guevara and his wife Tay Melo also revealed some news of their own before the match began, revealing that they’re expecting their first child.
