Ever since returning to WWE Cody Rhodes has established himself as one of the top stars in the industry.
His major comeback happened at WrestleMania 38 and just a year later he was in the main event challenging Roman Reigns for the Undisputed Universal Championship.
In the lead-up to his Hollywood headliner, Rhodes took to the microphone to cut several passionate promos about his desire to capture the title his father never won. His promo battle with Paul Heyman on February 6th was particularly special receiving plaudits from fans and pundits alike.
While Rhodes has always been a strong talker on WWE Hall of Famer has called him the best promo he’s ever seen in his legendary career. Speaking on Wrestling Shoot Interviews Don Muraco had this to say about the American Nightmare.
I love Dusty’s boy. I think he’s the best promo guy I’ve ever seen in my whole time and my whole thing in the business, I like his organization and his delivery, everything about his promos I like.
I’ve been really taken back by Cody Rhodes you know sometimes like I know the shows going on and I’ll just fast forward through everything to catch his promo or whatever angle he’s doing.
I like the way he organizes his promo, his thoughts and his delivery on his speech you know he’s got he’s like he’s like his dad, he’s like Piper, but yet he’s got himself.I think he should be running auditoriums and doing Tony Robbins self-improvement speeches instead of taking bumps.
Cody Rhodes Is Going To Fight Brock Lesnar At Night Of Champions
While still having Roman Reigns and the WWE Championship in his sights, Rhodes has had a large problem on his hands since WrestleMania 39.
Brock Lesnar has targeted Rhodes in several brutal attacks. The assaults resulted in the two clashing at Backlash in Puerto Rico. But despite beating the Beast, Lesnar remains determined to destroy him and now they will “fight” at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia on May 27th.
