WWE Hall Of Famer Blasts Vince McMahon: “He Never Held Up His End Of The Bargain”

WWE Hall Of Famer Blasts Vince McMahon:

A WWE Hall of Famer did not hold back when discussing Vince McMahon.

The relationship between McMahon and Goldberg has been a rocky one. Finally debuting in WWE the night after WrestleMania 19, the former WCW star left the company one year later following a disappointing run that culminated in one of the worst WrestleMania matches in history against Brock Lesnar.

As history has shown, disgruntled stars patching things up with McMahon and making a WWE return is almost an inevitability. Goldberg was no exception to this, returning to the company in 2016 and righting multiple wrongs from 13 years prior. The Hall of Famer remained with the company until 2022, last losing to Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber in Saudi Arabia. However, it was at this point that the relationship went south once again.

Speaking with Steve & Captain Evil, the former World Champion was asked about his thoughts on Vince McMahon. Goldberg did at first credit McMahon for giving him one more run in WWE before revealing the terms of his final match:

“Vince is like Dana White. He’s the big boss and he makes everything happen, and in all honesty, he gave me the opportunity to put my wife and son on the front row and gave me the ability to perform again in front of them. So, I owe him everything, until we went to Saudi Arabia and he asked me to put Roman Reigns over, and I had COVID. I remember calling him from my house and said, ‘Listen, here is the deal. I’ll do it if you give me a retirement match.’ I did what he asked.

The Hall of Famer continued, stating that although he fulfilled his obligations, McMahon never gave him what he asked for:

As a performer, I was 56 years old. As a human being, you’re conscientious about how you look in a bathing suit, especially two months prior to being in that bathing suit, you couldn’t work out because you had COVID. I put myself in a horribly sh*tty situation to get what I wanted to, but to satiate him and give him what he wanted. Problem is, he never held up his bargain. Vince is a piece of sh*t as far as I’m concerned,”

At the time of writing, Goldberg has yet to elaborate on plans for an official retirement match. During the same interview, the former World Champion admitted that he tried to be a part of Sting’s upcoming retirement match at AEW Revolution 2022.

In 2021, Goldberg faced off against Bobby Lashley at SummerSlam, which included an angle that saw Goldberg’s son be attacked by The All Mighty. During the interview, Goldberg gave some insight into how the angle was put together.

One person who has vocally criticised Goldberg in the past, Matt Riddle, is still hopeful that the first-time-ever match could still take place.

Former WWE Champion Tells Crazy Vince McMahon Story

Stories regarding McMahon have become some of the most legendary in all of professional wrestling. With the WWE Chairman being very limited in interviews, any insight into the life of McMahon is only known through those who have worked closely with him. AEW star Chris Jericho recently recounted a crazy Vince McMahon story involving a lot of alcohol and 2 hours of sleep.
