WWE Hall of Famer Booker T recently shared his thoughts on why he believes Roman Reigns and Gunther are two of the best wrestlers in the world today, emphasising that Gunther’s authenticity gives him a slight edge.
Speaking on an episode of The Undertaker’s podcast, “Six Feet Under,” Booker T praised both superstars but highlighted what sets each apart. Booker T was particularly complimentary of Roman Reigns, emphasising his skill in elevating other wrestlers through storytelling. He stated:
Roman Reigns is one of the best wrestlers that we’ve seen in the past couple of decades. I mean, he really is for his storytelling. And I say that because the bar has always been not how good you look, but how good you can make somebody else look.
The WWE Hall of Famer continued to praise Reigns’ ability to make his opponents shine, explaining:
When I watch Roman, no matter who he’s in the ring with, that person looks better than they’ve ever looked with anybody else.
However, when asked who he believes is the best wrestler today, Booker T named Gunther, pointing to the Austrian star’s believability and presence.
People say, actually, who would I think the best wrestler in the world right now is? I said, Gunther. The reason I said Gunther is because he’s the most believable guy wrestler. He’s a guy that you’re gonna see him in the airport, and he’s gonna pass that airport test. You’re gonna see him. You may not even know who he is, but you’re gonna wonder, who’s that guy?
While Booker T believes Reigns excels in storytelling, Gunther’s raw, imposing presence sets him apart as the most believable performer in wrestling today.
What Change To WWE’s Matches Does Booker T Think Is Coming?
Booker T spoke about the violence and blood in CM Punk and Drew McIntyre’s Bad Blood PLE match and how he thinks that more violence and bloody scenes could become more normal in WWE. Booker said that the match delivered exactly what the fans wanted to see and that he thinks more violence will be happening in WWE.
