WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle has shared his thoughts on Hulk Hogan’s surprising reception during Raw’s premiere on Netflix.
The January 6 episode featured several legendary appearances, but when Hogan made his entrance, he was met with a wave of boos from the live audience. Speaking with Bill Apter of Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, Angle acknowledged the crowd’s response, stating that fans have the right to react however they choose. However, he emphasised that Hogan’s contributions to wrestling remain undeniable.
“Let the fans do what they want to do. I mean, Hulk Hogan is a legend. You can’t take that away from him. He’s probably the most popular pro wrestler of all time.”
Angle also suggested that outside factors may have influenced the reaction, implying that Hogan’s political views could be a reason for the boos.
“He’s an incredible human being, but sometimes politics gets in the way. That’s what happened.”
Hogan’s legacy in professional wrestling is one of the most celebrated. He was a key figure in WWE’s rise to global prominence. However, past controversies and his support of President Donald Trump during his 2024 election campaign have impacted his reputation among certain fans.
