Jake Roberts might already have a job in AEW, but he has his sights set on something bigger.
Since joining the company in 2019 Roberts has appeared on-screen as the manager of Lance Archer while acting as an advisor and coach backstage. However, speaking on his Snake Pit podcast, Roberts revealed that he would “love the opportunity” to step back into a booking role with the launch of Collision.
The WWE Hall of Famer has previously helped book shows in WWE, Georgia Championship Wrestling, and elsewhere. When asked about performing a similar role in AEW, Roberts said he was “begging” for the job.
“Absolutely,” Roberts said. “I would love the opportunity. Just give me fifteen minutes a show. Let me put something together … I know that I can help. I’m begging for that job.”

The comments from Roberts come after it was reported that both Bryan Danielson and Dax Harwood are now involved in creative, while Tony Khan has also added Jimmy Jacobs to his expanding backstage squad. It has also been claimed that CM Punk is heavily involved in his own creative on Collision, and his influence may extend further.
With regard to Danielson, it is believed that the American Dragon has been contributing in a backstage capacity for a long time and has more influence than people think. One report noted that the former WWE star is now a “key part of creative.”
