WWE Originally Had nWo Spot Planned For WrestleMania

According to a new report, WWE originally wanted the nWo to be involved in the upcoming WrestleMania weekend festivities prior to the tragic passing of Scott Hall.

It’s been 20 years since Vince McMahon brought the nWo into the WWE ahead of WrestleMania X8, where Scott Hall took on Stone Cold Steve Austin and Hulk Hogan faced off in an iconic match against The Rock. The group didn’t last long in its original format with Hulk Hogan turning babyface at WrestleMania and being attacked by Scott Hall and Kevin Nash.

According to a new report from Fightful Select, WWE had plans to once again involve the nWo in WrestleMania weekend prior to the tragic passing of Scott Hall. The wrestling world mourned the loss of Hall earlier this month when he sadly passed away on March 14th due to complications that arose following hip surgery.

The report states that prior to Hall’s death, the WWE had plans to bring in the Bad Guy and other members of the New World Order as part of promoting the new WWE 2K22 video game. The most expensive version of the game features the nWo on the cover and was released the same day that Scott Hall passed away.

It’s also noted in the report that Fightful isn’t sure if other members of the nWo might still be brought in to promote the game during WrestleMania weekend in Dallas.

On a recent podcast, former WCW President Eric Bischoff surprisingly named Dolph Ziggler as the current talent he’d most like to add to the nWo today.
