Los Lotharios’ Angel and Humberto believe that WWE forgot that they were cousins, despite the fact they did almost everything together outside the ring.
Since September, Angel and Humberto have teamed together as Los Lotharios. Though they haven’t found much success as a tandem, the partnership did lead to both challenging Ricochet for the Intercontinental Championship on the road to WrestleMania 38.
However, it appears that WWE forgot one key fact about the duo; the fact they’re related! In a new interview with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, Angel noted that company officials were “supposed to know that”:
“They’re supposed to know that [we’re cousins]. When they hired us, we did the tryout together. We did everything together. We moved to Orlando almost together. I think they knew we were cousins. But after that, they were like, ‘Oh, you guys are cousins?’ Yes, we are. It all feels natural.”
Together, Los Lotharios have wrestled less than fifty matches, the majority of which occurred on house show loops. Their last televised outing came on SmackDown a couple of weeks ago, wrestling The Usos with a potential opportunity at Jey and Jimmy’s Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships at stake.
Humberto chimed in as well, explaining how everything felt natural because of their real-life chemistry as family members:
“It feels better because it feels more natural. As you said, we know each other since we were kids. We’re cousins. The stuff that we were doing as kids, now we’re doing right here professionally. It just feels amazing. Just goes natural. I know he has my back, I got his back. We’re complementing each other.”
Humberto was first to officially sign a WWE contract, being announced as a WWE recruit on 18 October 2018, with Angel following suit the following April. The former Garza Jr. found more success, enjoying a brief run as NXT Cruiserweight Champion before the pandemic before he joined Andrade and Zelina Vega on Raw.
